The Role
A highly capable and emotionally intelligent Governor is required to support a 13 year old boy through a significant stage of his academic and personal development. This is a live in role within a small household team that includes a housekeeper and a physiotherapist. The Governor will provide structure, academic guidance and steady mentoring, helping the boy grow in confidence and independence.
The boy will need support with organisation, homework and developing strong study habits. He would benefit from a Governor who is calm, engaging and patient, with the ability to inspire him, keep him on track and bring out his potential.
Responsibilities
• Academic support across core subjects
• Homework supervision and revision planning
• Encouraging confidence, self belief and curiosity
• Supporting morning and evening routines
• Ensuring he is prepared and organised for school
• Helping him manage his timetable and after school commitments
• Promoting healthy habits and practical life skills
• Working collaboratively with the housekeeper and physiotherapist
• Maintaining clear and professional communication with the parents
Requirements
• Native English speaker
• Strong academic background
• Minimum 5 years experience in private households, ideally UHNW
• Experience working with teenagers
• Confident guiding, mentoring and motivating a young person
• Emotionally intelligent, calm and grounded personality
• Valid enhanced DBS
• Paediatric first aid
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
