Quintessential Governess is seeking an engaging and energetic Governess to support two young girls, aged 6 and 4, within a very high-profile and well-known family based in Dubai. The principals are a young couple who are generous, kind, and respectful, and who value and appreciate the contribution of their Governess. This is an exceptional opportunity for a professional who combines warmth, intelligence, and cultural awareness, with the ability to support the girls’ daily routines and development.

The role requires someone with excellent manners, a good level of English, and native Arabic, who is able to create a warm yet structured environment for the children. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience working with UHNW or high-profile families, understands how to encourage good behaviour, and can engage the girls in age-appropriate activities and learning. A background in working with young children is essential, as well as formal teaching experience.

This is a fully staffed household, and the position focuses solely on the care, upbringing and positive development of the girls. The family is warm, while maintaining high standards when it comes to manners, behaviour and emotional confidence. Cultural consideration and respect for the family’s values are essential.

The right personality is key: someone naturally positive, calm, with good energy and a joyful approach to life. Someone who genuinely enjoys being with children, encourages confidence, and helps guide behaviour with kindness rather than strictness. This person should be able to manage the existing nannies in a supportive, collaborative way, without being bossy or micromanaging.

• Provide daily educational support and guidance for the children, incorporating age-appropriate learning and play.
• Oversee homework and encourage a love of learning through creative, engaging methods.
• Reinforce good manners, social behaviour, and etiquette at all times.
• Organise and maintain a consistent daily routine for the children.
• Communicate effectively with parents, the household PA, nannies and other staff.
• Collaborate with nannies and tutors to ensure consistency in care and education.
• Plan enriching activities both at home and during travel.
• Accompany the family on trips when required, including the UK.
• Ensure the children’s safety and wellbeing at all times.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in private households or educational settings.
• PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
• Native Arabic speaker huge bonus; native English essential.
• Professional, energetic, and engaging with a genuine love for working with children.
• Confident swimmer; skiing experience a plus.
• Organised, proactive, and confident in planning routines and activities.
• Culturally sensitive with an understanding of family privacy and protocol.
• Mature, reliable, and discreet.
• Excellent personal presentation and table manners.
• Able to work harmoniously within a fully staffed household.
• Driver not required; full security in place.
